Butterfly Puppet:
This is the very first puppet I ever made. I was inspired to create this puppet because a friend was holding a muppet themed birthday party and I thought: "I could make a muppet, I'm gonna try!"
I
didn't take photos of the beginning process of building the body because I had no idea that puppet making was a talent of mine and that I would make more. Here are a couple of photos of the wing construction. The wings to flap and the mouth opens and closes, the antennae also bob around.
The puppet is built out of foam that is cut and glued in order to take the shape of the body. All of the fabric and faux fur is remnant (scrap) fabric, the antennae are made from notebook spiral binding, pompoms and pipe cleaners, the wings are made from hangers, nylons, fabric, and leather.
His name is Brightly the Rainbow Butterfly!
